The Kremlin Announces Russia Won’t Sell Oil to Countries That Impose Price Caps

Russia does appear to be winding up to shut off the gas as soon as winter starts and just totally cripple Europe.

Putin is now saying he’s worried about the stability of global energy markets 😂.

The Kremlin said on Friday that Russia would stop selling oil to countries that impose price caps on Russia’s energy resources – caps that Moscow said would lead to significant destabilisation of the global oil market.

“Companies that impose a price cap will not be among the recipients of Russian oil,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters in a conference call, endorsing comments made on Thursday by Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak.

“We simply will not cooperate with them on non-market principles,” Peskov said.

Group of Seven (G7) finance ministers were due to meet virtually on Friday and were expected to firm up plans to impose a price cap on Russian oil purchases with the aim of reducing the revenues flowing to Moscow.

The European Union earlier this year imposed a partial ban on Russian oil purchases, which Brussels says will halt 90% of Russia’s exports to the 27-member bloc when it fully comes into force.

European Commission head Ursula von der Leyen said on Friday it was time for the EU to consider a similar price cap on Russian gas purchases.

Peskov said it was European citizens who were paying the price for such moves, imposed in response to Moscow’s military campaign in Ukraine.

“Energy markets are at fever pitch. This is mainly in Europe, where anti-Russian measures have led to a situation where Europe is buying liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the United States for a lot of money – unjustified money. U.S. companies are getting richer and European taxpayers are getting poorer,” Peskov said.

Another top Russian said that they would just totally cut all gas.

Moscow would halt its gas supplies to the European Union altogether should the bloc impose a price cap on Russian fossil fuel, Dmitry Medvedev, who served as the country’s president from 2008 to 2012 and is currently the deputy chairman of Russia’s Security Council, has warned.

On Friday, Medvedev posted a short message on his Telegram channel commenting on a remark made earlier in the day by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.

“It will be much like with the oil. There simply won’t be Russian gas in Europe,” the politician wrote.

Meanwhile, gas to Germany is offline indefinitely as September begins.

Russian energy giant Gazprom announced on Friday the suspension of natural gas supplies to the EU via the Nord Stream 1 pipeline, for an indefinite period, due to technical malfunctions. The pipeline was supposed to restart on September 3 following repairs to its sole operating turbine.

According to the company, it received a warning from Russia’s industrial regulator Rostekhnadzor about the turbine failure. The problems were reportedly detected during scheduled maintenance work, and the pipeline will not be able to operate without proper repairs, according to Gazprom.

The Russian firm said it has informed German manufacturer Siemens about the turbine failure and the need for an overhaul.

Repairs on the Nord Stream 1 pipeline were originally scheduled from August 31 until September 3, prompting a full shutdown of gas flows.

Stay frosty, lads.

It didn’t have to be this way.

We could have all just been friends.

Western countries refuse to give peace a chance, because they’re run by Jew psychos.

This whole “we can bully the world into being gay” thing was never going to work long-term, however. A country obsessed with gay sex loses its ability to force its will on other people pretty quick.
